The 2025 application due dates are April 1 for singers, April 15 for instrumentalists.
To apply for the Baroque Academy (instrumentalists and singers), Ensemble Singing Intensive, or the Medieval Project please submit:
- $30 application fee (please note that this does not register you for the Festival.)
Requirements by program are listed below.
Baroque Academy Instrumentalists should include a resume or brief description summarizing your musical background and experience, including formal and informal training and education along with 10-15 minutes of music showing your technique, expression, and understanding of Baroque style. The piece(s) need not be accompanied. Please include composer and title information with your submission.
Singers auditioning for the Baroque Opera Project should provide unedited video or audio of you performing two contrasting arias, one of which is a high baroque aria (e.g., Handel, Vivaldi) with fast passage-work and its opening recit if available. If you have a third selection that you would like for us to consider, you may include it. One sample should be in Italian, and all samples recorded within the past two years. Please include a publicity photo, bio/resumé describing music and stage experience and link to website if applicable.
Singers auditioning for Ensemble Singing Intensive are asked to submit:
- Your resume or a brief description (one or two paragraphs) summarizing your musical background and experience, including formal and informal training and education.
- 10-15 minutes of music showing your technique, expression, and understanding of period style. The piece need not be accompanied. (Please include composer and title information with your submission.)
Singers auditioning for the Oswald von Wolkenstein Medieval Project with Benjamin Bagby Please submit a recording of at least one Medieval solo song or Gregorian chant. Please do not send recordings of polyphony where you sing an inner voice. You may include one later piece if medieval music is not possible. A folk song would also be fine. Accompaniment not necessary. Let us know however if you play an instrument. Please include resume, especially mentioning your previous experience in medieval music, if any.
